Kelly likes science and coffee so he is pretty stoked to make coffee for all you incredibly clever folk.  He is going to school to be a mad scientist and save the human race.   We hope he succeeds.  In the mean time, visit him at the Irie Bean and have him fix you a mad coffee concoction!

Kaylie moved to Austin with her best friend from a small town in Kansas and she just loves it here. She has been working in coffee shops for the past four years and the Irie Bean is by far her favorite. With her time in Austin Kaylie hopes to join an underground theater group and act on stage.

When you see Raf he usually has a smile on his face. That’s because he has a lot to smile about. He is an entrepreneur with 3 businesses under his belt and believes that nothing is out of reach. Raf did not have an easy childhood, but someone forgot to tell him that. He's been smiling his whole life. The University of Texas is what brought Raf to Austin, and the
friends and community have kept him here. Raf's background is in Business
Economics, but his passion is for people.

Jay is our country boy, raised on a farm in Brenham, TX. When he wasn’t milking cows at the dairy or eating ice cream at the Blue Bell creamery, he was fighting fires with the local fire department. He moved to try out the “big city” lifestyle of College Station, TX for a few years before realizing his mistake. He came to Austin just over two years ago and brought his hard-working character with him. If you think going to school and working is hard, trying starting a business at the same time!

Angela balances out the testosterone at the shop. Growing up with older brothers, she’s used to keeping the boys in line – it’s just the boys that have changed. Angela is a world traveler, spending several of her younger years living in England and Wales and later adding more countries to the mix. With business experience including photography, wedding planning and advertising, she has a true passion for new challenges. Angela’s brother Jimmy inspired her coffee shop dream. When he passed away before being able to open his own shop, she decided to carry on his dream.

Bobby fits in great at the Irie Bean.  He’s been with us since the beginning and he just happens to be a good cook (how convenient). Bobby studied Environmental Science in Colorado before moving to Dallas for Culinary Arts. He travels with various bands like WP and STS9 when he can, which is pretty regular. He loves Austin and has no intention of leaving until they throw him out. His hobbies range from collecting gems and minerals to learning all he can about different regions of America. He claims to be an excellent listener so come get some java and put him to the test.

Holly is a small town girl with a big heart.  She is currently a nursing student at the University of Texas and a volunteer at the South Austin Hospital.  She enjoys starting her day with a cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle from the Irie Bean.  During her free time you can find her biking, supporting the local music scene, or goofing off with friends.

Alex moved from Dallas to Austin four years ago to attend the University of Texas, where he is an English major.  Out of at least seventeen jobs Alex has had since he was a teenager, he thinks the Irie Bean is the one for which he is most suited because all the people are so friendly and it’s easy to form friendships with the customers as well as the staff.  He really likes being part of such a genuine local business.  In his spare time he enjoys reading books, watching movies, and talking about books and movies.  He is also the proud owner of a golden retriever named Ellis.
